I produce work primarily concerned with poetic sentiment.
In my exploration of various forms of expression I encountered La Poétique de l’espace, a book by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard, which became the inspiration to create book art and box constructions. And since that time, books and boxes have remained an important theme for me.
I have gained a lot of inspiration working from myths, from the Bible, and from tales that have been handed down from ancient times. Combining fragments of them with daily objects and old photographs, I reconstruct them in pursuit of the fundamental poetic sentiment sunk deep in my memory.
